Our main project task was to redesign the comment system and the single article view to increase user engagement for one of the largest information portals focusing on IT topics in Poland.
The strategic workshop conducted in the Miro application gave us knowledge about:
Warsztat strategiczny to niezwykle ważny etap. Klient może podzielić się z nami swoją wizją na produkt, a my mamy szansę dokładnie zrozumieć wszystkie filary tego co tworzymy.
Rozmawiamy o użytkowniku, jego problemie i rozwiązaniu, jakim jest produkt.
While working on the brand strategy, we obtained information on the general environment of larger and smaller news portals in Poland, as well as key business insights. In order to get a full picture of their current situation and goals, we conducted a series of exercises and suggested how to improve the user experience while meeting business goals and generating more pageviews.
During the UX audit, we conducted an analysis of how users interact with the current website, what issues they encounter, and what information they most frequently seek. This allowed us to identify potential areas for improvement and propose specific actions that will help enhance user experiences and increase engagement on the site.
After a thorough analysis of the competition, we were able to identify its strengths and weaknesses, thanks to which we better understand what features, solutions and style should be provided to stand out enough to attract customers and compete with other platforms.
Before starting the design process, we identified several key challenges we had to address:Lack of user engagement:
1. The existing comment system did not attract enough user activity. Comments were rare, and interactions between readers and authors were limited.
2. Non-intuitive interface: The single article view was not user-friendly and lacked attractiveness for readers. It lacked elements that would encourage user interaction and further content exploration.
To meet these challenges, we developed a comprehensive solution that addressed the needs of users and the goals of the portal. Here are the main elements of our project:
1. Clear comment interface: We redesigned the comment system to be more user-friendly. We implemented intuitive icons and appropriate highlights that help readers easily identify and respond to other users' comments.
2. Comment rating feature: We added a comment rating function, allowing users to express their opinions on other users' content. This increases interaction between readers and encourages better discussions.
3. User reputation system: We introduced a user reputation system that rewards active and valuable community participants. Higher reputation grants greater visibility in comments and influences the credibility of opinions.
4. Personalized article view: We enhanced the single article view to be more appealing and engaging for readers. We tailored it to user preferences, enabling content personalization, saving favorite articles, and sharing content on social media.
